  • I love the outdoors and camping as well as all kinds of electronic stuff. Homebrewing has been a wonderful hobby and I cannot wait to get into all-grain!

  • I got into home brewing on a whim, I decided that it was something that I had a lot of interest in and finally just went out and got what I needed to get started. I'm only starting out with kits, a 5 gallon plastic pale for closed fermenting, a second five gallon pale for bottling, a siphon with a bottling attachment a good brew pot and the third edition of "The complete Joy of Home Brewing".rnrnMore recently, I've acquired 6, 5 and 3 gallon better bottles to replace my buckets which were becoming scratched.
  • I would really like to get into all-grain brewing or a least partial mashing but I would definitely need to get a larger pot and a more powerful stove (stupid apartment stoves). For now my plans are just to brew good beer consistently and to start learning the finer points to beer in general.

Interesting, I didn't think about that. It would be a pain to clean the thing out after sitting
for years with about a half gallon of beer (probably vinegar) left inside. But yea, that would
    be a ton ...

A few weeks ago one of the floor managers where I work found out I was a homebrewer. In the
process of talking to him about that hobby he offered to give me an old keg he had sitting
    around. So withou...

I buy online, I use to buy at my LHBS but they are almost an hour away. If they were closer I'd
    probably buy there more.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I may attempt the acid malt or leaving out some Guinness to
sour on the next go at this style. I'm pretty sure the tap water here sucks, so the last few
    beers I've used...

I ordered the kit from Austin Home brew supply. If I order it again, how would I get soured
beer to add? Leave out some Guinness? How would I control what strain of wild yeast would
    soured it? Sorry f...

Hey everyone,I recently tried my hand at making my first stout, a Guinness draught clone kit.
After being in the bottle for almost two months they still seem to be more bitter than a
    typical pint of G...
