  • I initially started brewing several years ago. Bought my first kit from a company named Kraus (?). First batch was good. Probably didn't sanitize my second batch enough and it was a disaster. My cousin bought me the Mr. Beer kit for Christmas ('09). Put it in the basement for awhile. Just bottled it today (6/26/10). Also bought a 5 gal/23 Liter kit from Cooper's. Have to create some space in the basement after I clear it with the wife.

had one......... a sour mash, that I tossed out. If you are using good recipes or good

I hate "think outside the box." My son once asked me if I think outside the box. I responded
"No, but that's because my box is bigger than everyone else's."See, when I hear that phrase I
    think of "Ter...

At a Navy squadron I was once stationed at we had a "soda" machine in our Chief's Mess. It
wasn't one of the cool ones like posted above. It was a bit more modern, push button type.
    Anyway. The labels...

I pitched yeast in my APA extract batch, it was more than 60 hours before I saw the first
bubbling in the airlock. I assume the beer should not be negatively affected by this? Have you
    ever seen this ...

Thanks! I'm on LI too. Pretty far from Baldwin though. I generally buy at the Hop Shop
(formerly Brewtopia) in Port Jeff. Today I was in Patchogue at the Back Alley Brew Store there.
