  • I initially started brewing several years ago. Bought my first kit from a company named Kraus (?). First batch was good. Probably didn't sanitize my second batch enough and it was a disaster. My cousin bought me the Mr. Beer kit for Christmas ('09). Put it in the basement for awhile. Just bottled it today (6/26/10). Also bought a 5 gal/23 Liter kit from Cooper's. Have to create some space in the basement after I clear it with the wife.

I'm not sure how much zest to add. Sammy86 is right. You don't want to get pith in your beer
(the white stuff from a peel). Since it's only 2 gallons, start slow. You can always add more
    with subseque...

I know I'll be labeled a heretic, but here I go. Sanitize my hydro with starsan, pop open the
lid, (gently) put in the hydrometer in, take the reading, remove hydro and replace my lid. No

Brewing my No. Brewer, Heady Topper clone. Six gallons inna 7 gal bucket. Blowoff tube working
fine (?). There's a thick layer of foam under the lid causing it to bulge. Pitched about 1.5

This is in the wrong forum. It should be in beginner's or general beer. I'm sorry, I can't
provide a good answer to your question.
