  • My wife asked me to get a hobby and I thought about making my own beer to cut some cost in our budget. And I made my first batch on Aug. 29 2007. So far is going good and having fun, want to get into a brew club to meet some people and start some new friendships.

    I did this batch last night and I put in 3 gal. of water for the oatmeal and grain steeping. I
    should have used 2 bags for the oatmeal but no turning back now and I will see how it went in a

    thanks alot but if im only doing partial mash is it worth going to a program to help my
