    ABOUT ME

  • St. Louis
  • I have been interested in wine and beer making for a long time and just never got started. Recently, I finally got the motivation to try soda brewing because an elderly friend has been talking a great deal about making rootbeer when he was a kid and he wants to try some of that rootbeer again. I just made my first batch of rootbeer to surprise him. I think it has inspired me to continue my other brewing efforts, as well.

I have not yet tried forced carbing yet. However, I have been wondering whether I can carb in a
large container for storage and then put the soda into smaller bottles later without losing the
    carbonat...

I have been reading beer brewers posts and it sounds like they do warm yeast up to get it
active again. I am a novice when it comes to rootbeer, too, but since that principle does work
    with yeast in b...

I believe it's the flavor that causes the problem, at least that is what I have been told. Once
rootbeer gets into a keg, or anything else, it's darn near impossible to get every last bit of
    that flav...

I am really curious about the forced carbonation with the pressure caps. So, you make your own
carb water with yeast, then force it into the bottles, if I understand things correctly? Thus
    you have ye...

I am having problems with carbonation, as well. However, my directions do advise to let the
rootbeer set longer than yours do. They say to let it set at warm temps for at least 3-4 days
    and then set a...
