Posted in thread: Belgian Golden with FG of 1.000 on 04-07-2013 at 05:21 AM
I brewed a Belgian Golden Ale from a Brewers Best extract kit. It sat in a primary for 7 weeks.
Bottled it and measured a FG of 1.000, even with temp correction. Tasted great. Is a FG of
1.000 possibl...Posted in thread: Infection? on 04-04-2013 at 04:13 AM
I've had this Belgian golden in a primary for about 7 weeks. I see these little clusters of
bubbles on the surface. Does this look like an infection? There is a bit of light reflection on
the bottom l...Posted in thread: Oxiclean question on 03-19-2013 at 04:51 PM
I used this regular Oxiclean instead of the Oxiclean FREE to clean my better bottle. Is that
okay?Posted in thread: When to transfer to Secondary - Belgian Golden Ale on 03-06-2013 at 02:39 PM
Thanks for your input! I made the mistake of filling my carboy past the 5 gallon mark by just
over a quarter of an inch. My starting gravity was 1.066. The room I am fermenting in is 63
degrees, unfor...Posted in thread: When to transfer to Secondary - Belgian Golden Ale on 03-05-2013 at 05:33 AM
If you can get it into a 70F room that would work finehow long should I keep it in the primary?

bottle/kegHat...Posted in thread: When to transfer to Secondary - Belgian Golden Ale on 03-05-2013 at 04:58 AM
I have a Belgian Golden Ale that has been sitting in a primary for almost 3 weeks. I plan to
transfer it to a secondary soon. Should I take 3 days of readings prior to the 3 week mark?(OR)
Should I ta...Posted in thread: Dry hopping on 02-27-2013 at 01:16 AM
The temp was 59 degrees so I don't think that was the problem. Any suggestions on methods for
dry hopping? I will be using a 5 gallon better bottle, then bottling.Posted in thread: Dry hopping on 02-27-2013 at 12:44 AM
I'll be using a 5 gallon BB for secondary. Do I use sanitized marbles? I would imagine them
being difficult to remove through the neck. What are the disadvantages I using a hop bag
without marbles?Posted in thread: Dry hopping on 02-26-2013 at 12:40 AM
It's hard to get accurate gravity readings with partial boils, often you will not get the wort
mixed to a uniform density. That could be your problem. That's really interesting! I have been
reviewing t...
