  • I'm a wage slave by week and a homebrewer by weekend. I'd gladly work for a brewery if they could match my current pay/benefits, which aren't very high!rnrnLiving in the PNW makes it hard to get that first brewing job, unless you have experience or a brewing certificate.

  • A good friend of mine tried to get us into brewing for a couple of years, but I balked at the idea of trying to brew in an apartment. A year and a half ago he bought a Mr. Beer and the competitive part of me thought that I could buy real equipment for the same price as a Mr. Beer that was better.rnrn$119 later (way more than a Mr. B) I walked out of the LHBS with a starter kit and my first batch of canned IPA. In a studio apartment the size of two college dorm rooms I made extract beer for six months that was fair to good, and then I switched to all grain.rnrnSix months later I stopped overheating my sparge water and got some kegs. I now make beer that is tasty and other people look forward to having. It's a great feeling.

Sigh. I was so excited for the 30 gallon pot, but I'm not $400 excited for weldless
fittings.Guess I'll have to resort to my welding buddy to see what he can do.Waffle time!If I

The all in one GFI unit is nice, but consider this: gives remote control of your pump from
anywhere. Prior to picking this up I spent many a paniced moment trying to unplug my pump while

    1. Search is your buddy.2. Anyone willing to sell you a keg kit has a "how to" on their site. I
bought my first set up from keg connection and was pleased with the results. 3. It's just like

Don't worry about the whole Alzheimer's thing. The guy who did that study was later debunked,
or something along those lines. The amount of aluminum you would ingest from using it as a

Five gallons of Raspberry Wheat Ale. Girlfriends beer of choice, and I'm looking forward to
kegging it this time instead of bottles.

When I started brewing I used The Joy of Homebrewing and then started trying to develop my own

When I was bottling I would fill and my girlfriend would cap. Not a single leak. Be careful
about pushing too hard. Some of the guys on here have stories about breaking bottles while
