  1. Minimum of 4 weeks2. Don't always use one but have left several batches up to 18 months3.
  Minimum 3 weeks but had lots of brews around for several years

  I agree with Ischiavo, split between two bucket for best results. Also, loose lid is fine and
  will not allow anything bad to get in. Primaries do not have to be air tight for good beer.
