A container of garlic powder rolled out of my cupboard and smashed my hyrdrometer a couple

Thanks for the crash course guys. I think I jumped to conclusions about the yeast not being

My first guess would be the low temperatures caused the problem, but the fact that that my
other batch (created side by side) seems to be fermenting leads me to believe it's some type of
