  • Started brewing in the fall of '07.
Primarily I brew all-grain batches, but sometimes will do a partial mash (or even an extract brew) depending on time and other factors.
I try to keep plenty in bottles for family and friends -but for myself, I keep at least two varieties on tap -there is just nothing in the world like getting home after a hard days' work, and pulling a pint of draft beer.
In fact, I think I'll go have one now. PROST! :)

  • Many years ago, I made barely drinkable wines -the results were consistently unsatisfying, and often possibly toxic (grin). I finally gave up my attempts.
One day, in 2007, my youngest brother decided to try homebrewing, and brought me a bottle of his first attempt. It was pretty good. I love beer -and enjoy trying new ones from other areas (domestic as well as across the ponds) so I purchased a kit, and have enjoyed home-brewing ever since. I drink less than half of what I make, giving most of it away to family, and friends.

  • Whatever came out of the primary will go into the secondary if it doesn't manage to hit the keg instead.
  • Lord, I wouldn't know where to begin.

Only a few reasons it would have done that (that I can think of off the top of my head) - one,
you didn't let it finish fermenting before bottling (most likely, since you said it was great
    after two w...

I dunno, Max, thats a very very fine crack -I'd be concerned the flux didn't penetrate the ends
very well -and if it doesn't, the solder will never seal. If the poster has access to someone

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you as well. I give thanks to all the farmers and purveyors of

    as well) -not ...

After racking from the primary (even if I don't opt for a secondary) I take a healthy measure
of the primary yeast, wash it, take the cleaned yeast and will pitch THAT into the next batch
    if I'm doing...

  • Posted in thread: Is beer a common drink or a special drink for you? on 11-28-2013 at 01:19 PM
No, I really don't drink a lot. I'd have to say I give away most of my brew. I rather enjoy
watching others enjoy it even more than I enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE beer,
    I just don't...
