    ABOUT ME

  • Dover, FL
  • Started brewing in the fall of '07.
Primarily I brew all-grain batches, but sometimes will do a partial mash (or even an extract brew) depending on time and other factors.
I try to keep plenty in bottles for family and friends -but for myself, I keep at least two varieties on tap -there is just nothing in the world like getting home after a hard days' work, and pulling a pint of draft beer.
In fact, I think I'll go have one now. PROST! :)

  • Many years ago, I made barely drinkable wines -the results were consistently unsatisfying, and often possibly toxic (grin). I finally gave up my attempts.
One day, in 2007, my youngest brother decided to try homebrewing, and brought me a bottle of his first attempt. It was pretty good. I love beer -and enjoy trying new ones from other areas (domestic as well as across the ponds) so I purchased a kit, and have enjoyed home-brewing ever since. I drink less than half of what I make, giving most of it away to family, and friends.

  • As with life, always changing.
  • Whatever came out of the primary will go into the secondary if it doesn't manage to hit the keg instead.
  • Lord, I wouldn't know where to begin.

I recirculate my mash water through a coil in my HLT, I also have a 'bypass' ball-valve that
allows me to bypass my coil. I find maintaining my mash temps quite simple -the HLT is kept at
    about 160, a...
