I used it for about a year. It served me well but keep in mind that it will only support about
5-6 gallons. I wouldn't trust anything heavier than that. Also, the large, bottom burner is
    super strong,...

Definitely worth it. I would never brew without it. Plus, shaking 5-7 gallons of wort gets old
    quickly.

  • Posted in thread: Oxygen tank, plate chiller, immersion chiller on 03-07-2016 at 09:38 PM
I just posted on the local (Los Angeles) CL.1. Oxygen tank with CGA 540 fitting. Tank use to be
medical and comes with the standard regulator fitting so you can fill it up at any gas filling
    store. $5...

  • Posted in thread: Portable igloo cooler kegerator on 02-04-2016 at 06:01 PM
I already have the 70qt igloo cube cooler that I've been using for a single five gallon corny
keg. Will two of them fit in the cooler (without a lid, obviously). Also, is a paintball Co2
    tank enough f...

Two words: Speidel Fermenter...Look em up... I have one... I like it.+1. I have the 7 gallon
one and love it. I just got the Chapman SS fermenter through their kickstarter but haven't used
    it yet. Can...

  • Posted in thread: Best way to carb ? on 12-04-2015 at 12:37 AM
Same here. Force carb @ 30psi for 24 hrs, then back down to 12psi to pour. It's drinkable at 24
hrs but definitely not completely carbed until about a week. Whichever way you do it, it'll end
    up the s...

  • Posted in thread: How can I drain maximum of my wort out of my kettle? on 12-01-2015 at 11:21 PM
I use to use a diptube made of a hook shaped copper tube connected to a short piece of
silicone. The silicone connects to a barb/MPT on the inside. It worked well. You can also use a
    compression fitti...

  • Posted in thread: How can I drain maximum of my wort out of my kettle? on 12-01-2015 at 09:57 PM
I use to pump out the wort with just a bazooka screen on the inside and it drained the kettle
leaving about 1+ gallon of trub/hop matter behind. Now I whirlpool for about 1/2 hr creating a
    hop cone an...

  • Posted in thread: Homebrew Stand on 11-30-2015 at 10:38 PM
That's the same one I used when I first started AG. I bought mine through Amazon though. It
works well and the main burner is super strong so you'll go through propane pretty quick. I
    used the top bur...

  • Posted in thread: Quick Disconnects inside Mash Tun on 11-30-2015 at 10:31 PM
Didn't think of the silicone tubing solution. I would imagine that is simple as removing a hose
clamp each time. Any risk of the screen dislodging with stirring? That's what I use and it works
    great......
