Finally got my control panel finished and installed in the brewery last night. Wired up the
HotRods over the weekend. Did a water test last night and everything worked really well.
    Excited to brew thi...

  • Posted in thread: Just ordered keg equipment...dry hop in keg or not on 11-14-2014 at 06:31 PM
I would not wait that long to flush the keg with CO2 - I'd do it immediately. Add your dry hops
(whether in a bag or just sprinkled in), seal the keg, and immediately purge with CO2. No sense
    leaving ...

I always dry hop in my kegs. I put the hops in a paint strainer bag, tie it off and hang it
from the keg handle with some unflavored dental floss, and then rack the beer into the keg from

counts it estimates are even remotely close to reality. I do however know that a) Using that
    option gives me...

  • Posted in thread: New Kettle Time on 11-11-2014 at 06:36 PM
If you're even considering doing full-volume BIAB for 5 gallons of finished beer I'd go with a
15gal kettle without question. A 10 gallon kettle using that method is going to max out pretty
    quickly. Y...

  • Posted in thread: Cheaper alternative the the Thermapen on 11-06-2014 at 01:09 PM
I agree that the price tag on the Thermapen is off-putting, but honestly it's worth it. I use
mine all the time - brewing, grilling, and in the kitchen. One way or another it gets pulled
    out of the dr...

... I will start selling both the hotrods and the new all stainless heating elements by the end
of the week. I was going to allow hotrod orders a bit sooner, but it's counterproductive for
    people that...
