I got a tap water analysis from Ward in October 2014. My zip code is 20903. I'd love to see
what others in the area have in their water to determine any locational, seasonal, or gradual
    changes. FWIW,...

  • Posted in thread: I am giving up beer for 30 days on 08-19-2015 at 02:54 PM
I just saw this thread and I'm actually on day 23 of my 30 days without beer. I had just kegged
a double ipa, and around day 7 I kegged a fresh Wit. It was hard to keep my hands off. But the
    hardest p...

  • Posted in thread: Easiest and/or best practice Keg and line cleaning??? on 08-10-2015 at 08:51 PM
If the line has been sitting around for a while I'd flush it with beer line cleaner (then
water, per the BLC instructions). The easiest thing is to just put it in the keg and push it
    through with CO2....

  • Posted in thread: Torn between buying a house.. 2 opposite choices on 07-31-2015 at 06:54 PM
I vote #1. Shorter commute, closer to family, and more space. I've got 2 year old twins and no
family closer than 4 hours away. I would brew (and play golf, and sleep, and...) a lot more if
    my parents...

  • Posted in thread: Fridgenstein Side-By-Side Kegerator / Fermentation chamber on 07-30-2015 at 02:27 PM
It looks like the advertised range of ferm-wrap is 5-20f, so I'd have keezer sitting at about
40f and be able ferm at 60f, which I've always dreamed of being able to do in TX. If the
    ambient temp beco...

Or maybe I'll make things easier on myself, get any 'ol fridge of cl, plug it in normal to use
as 40f kegerator and buy a fermwrap plugged into temp controller for fermenting individual
    batches inside...

Why do you want the kegs on the fridge side? Were you just hoping that it would be easier since
it keeps at serving temps already?I'm not sure that you could fit a fermentation bucket on the
    freezer s...

  • Posted in thread: How do you whirlpool? on 07-16-2015 at 07:57 PM
I know you're asking about whirlpooling, but building a cheap hop spider fixed the problem for
    me. https://byo.com/build-it-yourself/item/2427-build-a-hop-spider-projects

  • Posted in thread: Dogfish/Stone/Victory release Saison du Buff homebrew recipe on 07-16-2015 at 02:53 PM
I made this a few months ago and I think it was the best beer I've ever made. I used the recipe
    in the link.

  • Posted in thread: Does anyone use Thermoworks RT301WA? The calibration makes no sense at all. on 07-03-2015 at 09:26 PM
I have the same thermometer and it's reading about 2 degrees high. When I pull out the screw,
it looks like there's a little slot inside, about the size of screwdriver from an eyeglass
    repair kit. I c...
