Since your moving the pot to cool anyway bring the pot up to steeping temp on the stove then
move out to the burner for the boil. I started doing this to save on filling the propane tank,

It's tough, I bottled my third batch about two weeks ago and it was no easier than the first.
Well, I overfilled a lot fewer bottles, and I've learned to put each empty bottle in a bowl

I make it a habit to have small containers/bowls of the hop additions ready before the boil
