  • Wife's brother got me into this. Have my lil ol 4 gallon Walmart
    kettle, one 6.5 gallon carbouy, and two 5 gallon carbouys.
    Oh, and two good plastic buckets.

    So far I've made some wonderful IPAs and a fairly good brown. My stout was a bit of a wreck, but is aging nicely - well, sort of nicely.

    Started about a year ago - 58 gallons of beer and 5 gallons of Appfelwein.This year's brewing
    started last week and another is scheduled for next week.Looking to easily double last year.

    I've made this recipe on a smaller 3 gallon scale and it was my BEST ever,but I'm not sure of
    its classification.I could ramp it up for a definite Barley Wine or leave it where it is and
    just call it ...

    Some of my best batches have been small. Big problem - you don't want to share them because
    half of a batch goes really quickly when you start passing it out to friends.
