  • I have not been brewing for long, I got started with a Mr. Beer kit my wife bought me for Christmas. So far I have made the basic West Coast Pale Ale and a hard cider that I am waiting to carbonate. Next up is going to be a stout and then I will probably upgrade to something a little more advanced after one or two more batches with this setup.
  • Next with the Mr. Beer refill:
    Irish Stout HME +
    Creamy Brown UME +
    1 pack Booster +
    Liquid stout yeast.
After that I think I want to try for an Irish Red.

The one that Yuengling makes is awesome IMHO, I drink those all the time. Guinness and Bass is
still the best combo though. And Black Castles rock. Might have to try the Smithwick's and
    Guinness some ...

Soak the lemon peel in vodka for a day or two. The vodka will become a lemon essence and the
peels are safe to put in at this point too.I like the two for one idea.

    and then ...

I've been using seventh generation dish soap and one of those clothes that is meant for
cleaning the screens on a flat screen tv's. Works pretty good for me.

Being from NC myself, I took it for granted that you wanted to make a hard sweet tea. Hard to
believe there's any other kind of tea. +1, even on the being from NC.

If you are doing an iced tea and you are going to sweeten it later then I would recommend a
simple syrup or something along those lines. Regular sugar just won't dissolve, take it from a
    southern swee...

I forgot to mention that I was going to let it carbonate for a couple of weeks, before sticking
it in the fridge. So far I like letting the beer age in the fridge rather than in the closet
    after carbo...
