  • I brewed a beer from a Mr. Beer kit and decided brewing is for me and Mr Beer kits WERE NOT for me. So, against my own better judgement I purchased the necessary tools to move directly to all grain. I also decided, foolishly, that I didn't need to use other recipes until I got the hang of I made my own. My first was an attempt at a brown porter with coconut and chocolate nibs. As fate might have it...I added coconut too early in the boil so you cant taste it, added WAY too much in the way of cocoa nibs in my secondary, used ZERO fining agents, and of course way too much specialty malt. The result...a headless, god-awful cloudy porter that is way too strong and has a bunch of oil on top from coconut. Learning in this fashion did serve me well and my latest brews have been very good and have been welcomed with open arms and mouths...I found this site, listened to hour upon hour of brewing podcasts, and read book after book on the subject which has served me well...

I'm currently putting the final touches on my recipe. The neighborhood ladies decided that they
want a fruit beer and peach was their choice. I think this could really be a winner, stay tuned

My experience with NZ hops has been similar: intense fruit. Personally, I don't like those
heavy-handed fruit bomb IPA's which is why I blend. I love using the dank nature of Columbus to
    balance out a...

Glad to see this recipe is still circulating as its one of my best. If you can do 65 that would
be ideal but 68 will work out fine.

I'm about to brew a Session IPA and I'm very curious to try this hop. I'm not big on showcasing
any particular hop so I always layer/blend them to a desired effect. This will have a base of
    pale malt ...
