  • Once I started buying the limited release $8 12oz bottles like shipwreck porter and KBS I knew it was time to try brewing my own. Started 3/24/13 with a BB Whiskey Porter kit, the following weekend I did a partial mash Barley Wine and then the following weekend did a Belgian Saison kit. Now I am on to all grain where I made another Belgian Saison to commpare. I went straight to kegging since I already had a kegerator for BMC.
  • On deck I have a peanut butter porter AG and a blueberry stout extract.
  • starsan, brewing today
  • Whiskey Barrel Stout and Belgian Saison Extract are both chilled and tapped. Going to let an AG Belgian Saison sit until needed and letting a Barley Wine age a bit more.

    OK so I have seen a couple mentions of grapefruit and a lot saying it is very fruity. 2
    questions:Is it a mild hint of grapefruit similar to a Bell's Two Hearted where it is present
    but kind of subdue...

    Does this beer rival Dragon's Milk or Backwoods Bastard? Those tend to be on the sweeter side
    with a distinct Bourbon flavor that I hope to find.I don't think that it would be a rival to
    Dragon's Milk...
