Our apologies. We just made the swap over on the site and are trying to migrate and update
information. We've also just updated the product offerings so there is a significant amount of
    updates needed...

The sensor measures the amount of pressure caused by the height of the liquid in the vessel.
There is air in the line as the sensor does not directly contact the liquid. When the

dozer: Absolutely. I was referring to the item in the intial post. If the intent was to go
toward BrewTroller, spending $40-60 on a temporary alternative versus the $80 for BT might not
    be the best ch...

This isn't much cheaper than a BrewTroller. Keep in mind you don't need to use every feature of
BrewTroller when you start. You can use it to monitor temps and control a few pumps.

The project started here on HBT as a matter of fact :)

BrewTroller does this though it's not something that's been tested very thoroughly yet. We use
the Freescale MPX5010 sensor and a calibration table in setup where you calibrate specific
    analog voltage...

Has anyone figured out how to make a cheap steam jacketed boil kettle yet? You could eliminate
the elements in the boil kettle and use a boiler for direct mash heat and to feed the kettle
    jacket.
