- Extract since the beginning. Started in 1985, and then brewed sporadically for several years. Brewing consistently (constantly?) for the past few years. Getting ready to go all-grain. Update 11/17/2011: Now all-grain and loving it.

I did the same thing with the bottom half of a broiler pan. Let's here it for thrift stores!

Also what is the compression ring around the bottom drain used for?I wonder also if it isn't a
