I was excited to try this and unfortunately I felt it tasted like flavored coffee creamer. I
struggled through the whole bottle because I paid like $9 for it. Way too sweet - almost gave
    me a headache...

Have you had the beer? It wasn't a sweet stout IMPO.Sure. Looked great, smelled great.. but it
was a drain pour. I couldn't stomach it.

I had this stout last night and I for one just wasn't that impressed. It comes in right at
9.6%. I didn't sense any Lactose in it, if it did it wasn't enough for me and the wife. I
    bought it for the w...

Well let me know how it tastes. I'm just trying to determine if it was too much spice or if I
messed something up somewhere along the line that brought out such a strong clove flavor.

I just recently got into brewing and the first kit I did was the Brewer's Best Pumpkin Spice
Porter. I was able to achieve the OG and FG ranges spot on. I was told by the guys at the shop
    to take the ...

Please let us know if it is extract, partial mash, or all grain. The most common problem with
extract/partial mash kits regarding the OG reading, is that people tend to not stir enough
    after topping o...

Thus far, I've brewed two beers from their kits, a robust porter, and most recently, a pumpkin
spice porter. In both beers, I've come up short on ABV. The robust called for 5.0-5.5%, it
    turned out in t...

Thanks for the detailed response. Was thinking I'd end up close to (not at) 1.01 since I
started at a lower gravity in the first place. It looks like my hydrometer is about .001-.002
    off.. So the 1.05...

I'm attempting to make the Brewer's Best Pumpkin Spice Porter. calls for a starting gravity of
1.057-1.061, but my gravity (normalized to 60F) was about 1.052.. a little low to begin with.
    Then again...
