  • I became interested in brewing after I started working for a small local beer/wine distributor. Being small, they had all the obscure brands that the big boys didn't want to have to deal with. Our big brands were Deschutes, Pyramid, Pike, Full Sail, Stone and Rogue. Some of the fun things I was selling were the Merchant du Vin lineup (Sam Smith, Lindemans, Traquair, Westmalle, Orval), Unibroue, Elysian, Aecht Schlenkerla, Youngs, JW Lees and Hofbrau. This is to name just a few of the world class beers I sold and sampled.

    Well, the micro movement is big up here and we had a small company that came in and opened shop for a U-Brew. Basically, you picked a recipe and with their guidence, you brewed a beer from grain crushing to bottling using their professional equipment. It was great beer and I was hooked.
