  • My buddy shared a home brew with me and I was impressed. Had him come over the house with his All Grain Setup of 10 Gal Mash-tun cooler and bayou classic burner and 8 gallon kettle and give me a walk through his brew day. I was hooked and bought his same setup. Since then I now have upgraded my kettle to a Keggle w/sightglass and camlock fittings. Got a pump to do whirlpool hopping and easy transfer. Love brewing hoppy Pale Ales, IPAs, Porters, Oatmeal Stouts.

and the blowoff tube seems quite unnecessary these days.

I recently also purchased a crappy one output temp control stc-1000 ripoff. The first thing was
that was fishy is that it read in Fahrenheit. It would be fine for an indoor DIY keezer thats
    about it. ...

Yep give it time. What temp do you have it at? The cooler the longer it will take to start up,
but once I starts keep it someplace temperature stabile in the 60s if possible and dark
