  • Honestly, I just decided one day I wanted to brew. Went to my LHBS and bought a starter kit, made a nice extract brown ale. I recently received a new Ale Pail, 5 gallon glass carboy, new racking cane and hose, and 48 new beer bottles for an early Christmas present, so I am back in the hobby!

    Ahh dang I always forget to account for boil-off so your initial wort volume is different.
    Probably why I end up with half empty fermenters and go "Wait.. what just happened?"

    You won't get a 11g batch in a 13g keg.Sounds like a challenge to me! But seriously, 2 gallons
    worth of headspace isn't enough?
