It kicked off...or at least started bubbling out the blow off tube at about 18 hours and os now
chugging away. I think I will invest in a stir plate, start making starters and start washing

Yes does have some normal looking bubbles around the wood, but the white spots are located in
the upper right hand corner if photo. I have seen yeast plumes before and these don't look like
