  • I started brewing in the early 1990s with a home brew kit purchased from James Page Brewery in MN. My second daughter was born in 1996 and I stopped. I had accumulated about 12 Coke (pin connector) kegs, a keggle, a full yeast culturing lab and had just started to buy parts for a RIMS. I sold everything except a new pump and two brand new 10gal coolers. I started brewing again in 2009.

Has anyone used these as fermenters? In Japan it is hard to find an economical fermenting
container - 4700 yen for a 6 gallon pail? 8100 yen for a 23 liter better bottle!? I can get the
    pubkegs for fr...

Those swiveling arms are cool, but I did not want to take up welding as a hobby. So, I cheated
and bought an electric hoist at Harbor Freight and used a coupon (25% off if I remember
    correctly). I hav...

1 oz of cascade sounds great. I'd do that the next time making this, probably even sub in a
portion of pale ale malt too but then it's almost becoming a Mirror Pond clone.Sent from my

Now after a couple of months, the new AC unit is still working quite well. I'm still running it
with the ACs probe inside the cabinet instead of routing it outside. What that does is allow
    the compres...

Being a woodworker, I went that route. My rig is two tiers, but when rolled up to my kettle
(sitting on the propane burner, which is sitting on the garage floor) it becomes a three tiered
    system. Duri...

Ah, capacity and expansion are always a good sign at a brewery! If you ain't expanding, you're
going under. Congrats on all the success :mug:

No, the old compressor just stopped working. The fan would work, but the compressor never
kicked on. So, I cut the cord off and threw it away. I wish there was a way to recycle crap
    like that.

Half correct. The probe from the STC1000 is in a thermowell inside a 1L bottle of water.
