  • I remember my mother making dandelion wine when I was little. She is long gone now and I always wanted to try making wine myself. In 2006 I made some balloon wine with bread yeast. Wasn't impressed! I can do better. Oct. of 2006 made my first good wine with canned orange/grapefruit sections with Cote des Blancs yeast. I had my equipment now, hydrometer, carboys, wine yeast, and other chemicals. My brother in law had been making wine for years and I was counting on Dicks advice but he died suddenly in Oct 2006. So i have been bumbling in the dark reading lots and making wine and drinking it too soon. Yuk. The only advice Dick had time to give me was "You can't rush a good wine." So many recipies say drink in months. Mine taste better aged.
    So last night I found your forum, I hope I can get the info I need to produce some yummy wine to share and give as gifts. Twenty seven batches later I still feel I have way too many questions. I won't give up. Seems the more I read the
  • Garlic wine, lilac wine, mead, saki, coffee wine, dandelion, beet, any fruits or berries that come my way at a good price, and of course apfelwein!(sp)
