I just got a pair of the dual-insert magnetic tap handles from BestBrewTap. Asked for them to
be made in Cocobolo, and got exactly what I wanted. The end result is perfect for my 2.5g keg
    system. Easy...

  • Posted in thread: Will the beer absorb all the CO2 if you only gas it once? on 01-24-2013 at 10:54 PM
That other part is right. If you want full carbonation, you are probably aiming at more than 2
volumes of CO2. Think of it this way, the volume of CO2 you want in your beer is more than
    twice the volu...

  • Posted in thread: Mini keg question on 01-23-2013 at 05:53 PM
The real issue is that since the mini-kegs aren't rated for a ton of pressure, force
carbonating is really easy to screw up with a mini-keg. They aren't really rated for the
    pressures that homebrewers...

  • Posted in thread: Should my keg hold pressure disconnected? on 01-23-2013 at 05:16 PM
CO2 will get absorbed, to the point where things will reach equilibrium. A point where CO2
isn't being drawn out of the liquid, but isn't being forced in. Just from the comments you
    made, I can't say ...

Can you use th TaD System to store non primed beer in and force carbonate one at a time as
needed? You can, although you'll use up more CO2 that way. I can prime 3+ TAD bottles for the
    cost of force ca...

The main problem I had with mine is that the plastic is fairly fragile, and the pour speed is
glacial. But if you can live with that, they do work well enough.

Thanks - so I should pull off the entire metal piece that is currently pushed into the red
hose? Seems like the hose will be all stretched out if I take it out.Yes. That's why hose
    clamps are also use...

Prices will be dropping again this summer since there are new players coming aboard with more
NSF stamped kegs on the horizon. This is something I am glad to hear about. The current crop of

Took an EdgeStar fridge that they use for their kegerators and installed the tower and other
parts myself for the same price as the kit. Went this route with the idea that since I am using
    2.5g kegs, ...

  • Posted in thread: Anyone know a mini fridge that doesnt need any mods? on 12-17-2012 at 03:34 PM
Do you know if the edge star uses a standard 3 inch tower ?Depends. If you buy the single tap
model, no. And it uses a weird plastic locking mechanism which isn't all that stable. The
    two/three tap mo...
