I agree that c02 loss is the likely culprit behind your magic gravity. Try pouring some carbed
beer in your test vial and observe throughout the day. ;)

It's probably done for the most part, but airlock activity does not equal fermentation. It'll
spend at least a week more fermenting the last little bit out and re-pitching won't change
    that. I'm not e...

It depends. If you're dealing with an actual cidery taste - that is, from adding too much sugar
or something - it'll probably fade to some extent, eventually. If it's just green beer, though,
    that gre...

Yeah, I've roused the yeast pretty well by now. ABV is 1.9% at the moment, which is low but if
it tastes this good after carbing I'll manage.Been holding at 65 for a week now, will raise the
    heater to...

1.039 was my intended OG. By "almost clear," I don't know how to describe it properly - there
was a very slight difference in color between the mixture and iodine-only portions of the
    chalk.Look at th...

Well, I swirled it in the carboy. I'm not worried about oxygenating it because of the CO2
blanket - I didn't actually open the fermenter, and I doubt I displaced much with my wine thief
    the day before...

Have you tried rousing it? Just be sterile.I've swirled it in the carboy kind of vigorously.
Would it be a good idea to find a non-porous length of something, starsan it, and scrape up the
    stuff on th...

It's possible that the mash was off, though if the thermometer is to blame that leaves some
questions about why the last batch didn't end up the same way.Buying a digital instant-read

@Kerin, gotta ask: is that a movie quote, the part about the cheap pasta maker? Goodfellas,
maybe? As far as I know, it isn't! I saw the line in a thread on these forums about converting
    pasta rollers ...

Had it at 68 since my last post and I'm still sitting at the same grav. Should I think about
maybe repitching some more S-04, or should I leave it alone?
