  • A friend brewed a Two Hearted clone for my husband, Hal, a year ago. He liked it and suggested I brew some beer. I suggested HE brew some since he likes it and I don't. He pointed out that I have time and he doesn't. So for our anniversary in January 2013, I bought the equipment kit for HIM. He picked out the ingredient kit: Russian Imperial Ale. rnHe loved itrnNext I did an all Centennial hops beer for him.At first he thought it tasted too much like Blue Moon. He prefers bitter, hoppy beer. So I gave half of it away, then took the second case of it to out church choir retreat earlier this month. They loved it, drank every drop! rnI have brewed two batches of cider. I like a slightly sweet cider. Each of these turned out too dry for me. Fortunately I have friends who liked them!rnI now have two cases of a Dreadnought Clone bottle conditioning. (Eleven days now.) trying to decide what he might like next!
  • I still want to try to get a hard cider that I like. A bit sweet. Just a bit spicy!Another hoppy beer for Hal! And definitely the Russian Imperial again!
  • Dreadnought Clone. "Old Battlewagon"

Thanks. I'll work on that. Sometimes following directions too closely isn't as good as it might
seem. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

I've been reading about session beers. My husband really likes very hoppy beer; but so many
have such a high ABV. I read about hop blasting. All the greatness of the hops, but lower
    alcohol. Any comme...

It was an extract kit. Instructions said to boil 2.5 gallons of water. Then top it off at the
end. I did. Not sure where I went wrong, if I did go wrong. However, it does smell great! The
    more I brew,...

The trub was an inch and a half to an inch and three quarters! Seemed really thick compared to
other beers I have brewed. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Finally had the time to move the Black IPA to the secondary. On brewing day, after all was said
and done, I topped it to five gallons. The trub, is that the yuck at the bottom?, was thick. I
    lost a lo...

Five days ago I brewed a Black IPA. It was an ingredient kit I got from Northern Brewers. My OG
was 1.080. I've been reading that it should have been 1.070-1.075. I think I'm close enough.
    All the sug...
