    ABOUT ME

  • I am a proud dad, ride BMX freestyle & freestyle mtn bikes, shoot photo's, race my R6 for fun, make vinyl stickers & now trying to brew beer at home. I'm part of a team called Bikes Over Baghdad that does shows for the troops to boost morale and take their mind off being in Iraq. I get to do a live tour called Nitro Circus Live all around the world so I have a good opportunity to sample the worlds beer.

  • My wife got me a Mr Beer kit and I got hooked. I'm always interested in how things work and detail oriented. I recently went big buying some new and used brewing equipment to step into partial mash and all grain. I picked up a stir plate to make yeast starters and have a basic set up for temp control to keep fermenting beer & smells out of the spare bathroom and keep the household sane.
  • Russian Imperial Stout with a chocolate stout as a parti-gyle from the RIS. Basic cream ale for my BMC friends. Saison. Open to suggestions

  • Rye Saison - got the recipe on HBT and it turned out great.rnVanilla Bourbon Porter - found on HBT and it is good but aging itself to being great very soon.rnPale Ale - wrong water, bad beer.rnHef - old dry yeast doesn't make enough carbonation.rnKarmelite Tripel that turned out great.rnSN Pale Ale clone, tastes good but waiting for a slow carb. An IPA that has not lasted very long. Most of my brews have been recipe's that I find here on HBT with good track records and they turn out great.
  • I haven't stepped into kegs yet but I'm sure after a few large batches of bottled beer I'll want to invest in a few right away.

    I used 1/4 pack of US-05 and it took quite a while to carb. I will use champagne yeast next
    time. The 6 months it took to be carbed was okay since the flavors blended well at that point.
