Got into the hobby after Christmas 2011. Have done two prepackaged kits so far. A truebrew red ale and a truebrew porter.
Both came out with a bad extra taste in them. Pretty sure I screwed them up b/c I steeped at way too high a temperature
My first success! An oatmeal stout from Brewer's Best. - Just started fermenting an irish red.

I posted this as my comments on the beer on the AHS site. In retrospect, I think my OG reading
was wrong because the beer has no indication of being that out of "whack". If you really are
trying to du...Posted in thread: Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale clone on 11-19-2012 at 08:20 PM

took off and I...Posted in thread: Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale clone on 10-26-2012 at 09:20 PM

it this weekend and tap it around Thanksgiving. I'll let everyone know how similar it is to the

I've got a dual tap edgestar kegerator and because of the beers I'll have on tap this fall,
have a need to have one tap CO2 fed and the other Beergas fed. There's only a hole for a single
gas line thr...Posted in thread: kegging but no room in the kegerator! on 05-08-2012 at 01:53 AM
Do I need to worry about having enough yeast left to eat the sugar since I 2 stage ferment (2
weeks primary 2 secondary) before kegging?Posted in thread: kegging but no room in the kegerator! on 05-06-2012 at 08:20 PM
In another week I'll be kegging my second brew (5th overall). The irish red I kegged first came
out great (other than I should have been a bit more aggressive force-carbing it. It recovered
and got to...
