I don't know if it will be a problem as is or not but I trimmed mine (just like yours except
wider) so that it sits just above the element.

The Auber SYL-2352 doesn't need a neutral for a pure 240v set up. You have it powered correctly

I should add, in some of the commercial descriptions it actually says it has a 'plummy
