  • My Aunt bought her husband a basic kit to make beer, he tried, failed, hated it and never did it again. So, for my 20th birthday she gave me his equipment as a gift. Of course, I've added to and taken away from that set-up, always trying to upgrade. That's been 12 years already, I did have a 3 year break in there, for what reason, I still don't know.

I bottled, then kegged, now back to bottling. No interest in kegging anymore. Bottling can
impart flavors that are not possible with kegs.

Would corking and then capping a regular 22 ounce bottle work?

Thanks for your input. The beer tasted pretty good last I had it, of course there was no
carbonation. The bottles are in the basement where it's 50F, they shouldn't blow down there.

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, so I figured I'll try on the sanitation section. Now,
I will get a pic up, but my camera died after I took a picture of the suspect. I recently
    acquired a con...

Man, I see how it disagree with me, but then a lady comes along and says pretty much
the same thing, and it's "a good point". Uh huh. ;););)Yeah, you can definitely add stuff
    (flavorings, etc...

If you want flavor, though, or cool ideas, you can add all kinds of things to the
secondary!Good point. I will try adding to the secondary as well. Perhaps as for the priming
    issue, maybe it's a puris...

I think I would have to disagree, people here have been talking about using liqueur's and such.
A gentleman even spoke of using cocoa as a partial primer, instead of in the boil. Because as
    he said, m...

I love the experimentation that comes with homebrewing. I like to brew off the cuff or just get
crazy with ingredients. Right now I want to experiment with different priming sugars. I did all
    the norm...
