Why are you fermenting at 64 degrees? Hefe's do good up or above 70.

My wife loves a local microbrew's hefe that smells like banana bread. I'm going to use this
recipe but bump the DME to 6# and ferment at about 72-74 degrees. SWMBO is actually going to
    brew it.

overkill for 99% of the engineering design work that is done.

I brought this to my company's homebrew festival last week. I wasn't sure how people would
react to a nearly 10% beer which is like nothing they've ever had. Long story short, I ran out
    quickly and ha...

Given the names they're using ("Golden Light," etc.) I assumed Briess, but as far as I can tell

I stupidly forgot to put a few ounces of pellet hops I bought yesterday in the fridge. They
were in the garage and sitting out for about 24 hrs. The temps ranged from about 40 to 55. I'm
    planning on b...

My LHBS recommends heating water to 160, putting the grains in and leaving for 1 hour. Charlie
Papazian recommends a similar approach but only 30 min steeping. Whatever works...

Okay, perfect. That's why I asked the question because I'm not too familiar with these cooling
devices. I wasn't sure if I found something good or if I'll be better off picking up a small
    fridge from ...

This is a thermoelectric cooler not a traditional fridge. And it is a small one at that, only
holding a six pack of cans. I can tell you that it would take several hours just to bring a six
    pack of ro...
