  • I got into homebrewing in early 2009 when my dad got me a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas. I brewed a few Mr. Beer batches with success but felt limited by the pre-hopped extract. This summer I built an Igloo cooler Mash Tun and have made 4 AG batches. I have also made several Mead batches that are currently aging.
  • I plan on working my way through Brewing Classic Styles. I will consider a recipe completed when I can brew it successfully two times in a row meeting the same parameters each time.
  • Primary Fermentation:
Red River Rising: American Amber Ale
    Clover Honey Cyser

It looks interesting... I might consider it later but I have a few things in the works that I
don't want to put off... It would be kinda fun to age it for the 20th Anniversary!

Well, temps of 200f (actually above 170f) will extract tanins, which won't do anything for your
beer. Step mashing should be used if you are mashing something that isn't well modified (not
    usually a p...
