ya I have a stick on thermometer on my bucket and carboys. They showed 24 degrees C at first
but after the fermentation slowed they went down to 22. I thought that was in the right range.

like unionrdr said, its pre-hopped. Boiling or even heating that up a lot will just remove any
hop flavor. You just want to warm that up a little so it's easy to pour into the water. Those

carboys are one of the cheapest things to buy, I would just go get a new 5 or 6 gallon one. You
would know it wasnt scratched and didnt have any weird stuff in it at some point.
