    ABOUT ME

  • 07/12/14 - It's been a long time since I logged on...likely of no consequence. However thought I would update some stuff. I spent the first 5 months of 2014 building out my electric brewery and in May I brewed my first batch. As I write this I have brewed nine batches and I am loving it!! A couple of tweaks and I am there!

  • I have always been intrigued by the brewing process but never got involved. Always too busy with work etc... Knowing this my wife bought me a Mr Beer one year for xmas or a birthday or something. I proceeded to do absolutely nothing with it, and it sat collecting dust for a few years. Finally one day in the spring of 2011 we were cleaning out the garage and she ran into it. She started to get on me about how I never used the damn thing, so I said "you know what, today is the day" and went into the house and did my first brew (if that's what you want to call Mr Beer). I did two more with it, then bought a proper starter kit. I did 10 batches of extract brew over the next 4 or 5 months. As I write this, it is 10/31/11. I just completed my mash tun tonight from a 10g Igloo cooler. AG, here I come! I guess I should thank Mr Beer. Had that first kit not been so easy, I may have never started what has turned into a very cool hobby...no, obsession!
  • EVERYTHING!

  • 19th century American pilsner, and a Munich Helles

Hunter306, it seems like it would be difficult to get the kind of torque needed to go through a
stainless steel pot with just an allen wrench. Were you making your holes in stainless steel
    pots?
