im assuming it is ok to go ahead and unblock the caked yeast at the top of the carboy. it was
blocking the blow off tube.will this all settle towards the bottom?

grains at 165 for 30 m.added gallon of water to bring it to 3 g for boilbrought to a boil.

ok. so i just got done cooling the wort to about 69 degrees. transferred to carboy. added water
to the 5 gallon mark.took a reading with the hydrometer. the OG is supposed to be 1050. and

whats a god way to get the temp down?i live in a apt building and dont have a cool basement to
store my carboy in. need to drop the temp down about 5 degrees.anyone have suggestions?
