Haha ah damn. Got my hopes up. hehe.

Ahh so you are brewing more. Nice! Well i leave the jugs in the fridge over night usually to make sure they are nice and cold. But before i add the wort to the carboy i put the pot in my sink which is filled with ice. I let that sit (top on) for quite a while before i even attempt adding it to the cold water in the carboy. What kinda beer you making?

Sounds like you already have it in the carboy and it is still too hot... In that case sounds like you are doing the right thing. Just get it down into the 70's before you pitch the yeast.
