How does it smell? I would think you need to get some oxygen to the yeast and see if they can
recoup enough to consume the sugars. What is your recipe(s)? Have you added any nutrients?Ed

ohio, I hope those "certified organic" farms didn't even have the word HONEY on the
label...well, maybe in the ingredients lists....it should have been labeled as SYRUP. If they

Gotcha on the location, nice area. I'm about 130 miles north of you. I've got a good old friend
that I haven't seen in a while that lives over in Gold Hill. Live's in the old two story house

s2005, you might want to check Lowe's out rather than HD. Lowe's has some five gallon buckets
labeled as food grade. The recycle emblems are denoting types of plastics, whether that means
    food grade o...

Would simply crushing some campden tablets, mixing with a little must and adding to the carboy
    work?Ed

Ok, let's get an understanding here...I've had maybe 2 or 3 drinks over the last 3 or 4 (or 5?)
years. Anyhow, call me a wimp or whatever but I've got a buzz off the test tube of the
    traditional mead....

Yooper, I was wondering about the flowers of yeast needing oxygen. I *did* have an issue with a
stopper. Seems when I racked it to the secondary that I couldn't get a regular drilled bung to
    stay in t...

Flowers of wine: flowers of wine are little flecks of a yeast that will ruin the wine. Various
sources suggest sulphiting and filtering.Ok, are you giving me a definition of flowers of wine
    or are you...
