  • Posted in thread: How do you sanitize bottle caps? on 09-02-2014 at 08:19 PM
I have never sanitized a bottle cap. I keep my work area clean when bottling and the caps in a
ziplock bag when storing. I've never had an issue.Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

I had the same issue with a boil over one time. My wife, God bless her, cleaned it up with a
paste made from baking soda and water. It took some effort, but it was achievable.

Just to be clear, if you are bottling, you will need to add priming sugar right before you
bottle so they will carb up.Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

There's another side to the GMO argument that I don't understand when it comes to making beer.
I don't care which side of the debate you are on, pro-GMO or anti-GMO. Personally I don't have
    an issue w...

On the rare occasions that I use a secondary, I'll add a small amount of priming sugar solution
to the secondary and let the yeast generate CO2 to displace the air in the headspace.

I love your keeper build, and I am making one myself that is a similar style. (Very similar.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.) I'm debating about putting tile on top or one of
    the fancy fo...

The STC-1000 is very popular. It takes some basic wiring skills, but there are plenty of posts
on this forum that will guide you. One of the things I like about it is that it has two
    120-volt outputs,...

  • Posted in thread: Does anyone not use a blow off tube? on 06-01-2014 at 09:00 PM
I use a 6.5 gallon carboy for my 5.25 gallon batches. I've used a three piece airlock at times
and a blow off tube at times. But I've never had any krausen come close to needing the blow
    off. In fact,...

I have the Holiday 7 cubic ft. freezer, LCM070LC, and I am unable to get 4 ball lock kegs in
it. It is really close, but definitely does not fit. I'm about 1/4 inch over the hump. The FAQ
    indicates th...
