Happened to me..once...won't happen again.Thank God I was using a temp. controlled
freezer!Quite a surprise to open the door and the interior was brown.

7 gallons to boil down to 5.5 gallons is reasonable but you will need to mash and sparge with
more the 7 gallons of water to get 7 gallons or wort to boilS_Mglad to help :)Okay does below

how big of a batch are you doing? mashing 10 lbs of grain will absorb water, need extra for
boil off when you boil for 60 minutesthere is stuff that you will leave in the brew kettle etc.
