    ABOUT ME

  • My name is Alex. After being introduced into the world of craft beers (especially IPAs) I started frequenting Craft brew pubs, micro breweries, Bevmo, fancy organic food stores, co-ops and other environments I had never associated with beer. (which three years ago meant budwiser miller or coors)rnrnA lot has changed since then. I'm now one of those hophead, beer snob, too good to drink like the rest of us fancy boys.... Or so I've been told. In all reality I just want 1: to taste my beer, and more importantly 2: for it to taste good.

  • I first got into brewing when I was sitting at a bar. I had just gone to a beer festival where 200 craft brewers had come to one place, some from over 600 miles away, all to do one thing. Get people to know their brews.rnrnI was chatting with some of the other patrons of the beerfest and driking an IPA (I believe it was stone but I'm not sure) and a buddy randomly texted me and said that we should start brewing beer in his shed. Two weeks later we were brewing our first batch. I've since taken over the brewing, fermenting and bottling even though the cost has been split several ways with me and my friends.

I don't know if 5 cups will be enough to drop the pH to an acceptable range.Do not use an
airlock for primary, the sour character will not develop as well without exposure to open air.

true FG. I used this calculator an OG reading of 1.056 (13.6 Brix) and a final reading of
