  • I learned from another person at our community garden, growing his own hops and made 10 gals of all grain at the garden.
He gave me a couple of samples that he made, as good as any I have ever bought.
1 month later I started my first batch of partial mash a simple pale ale. So far I have made 7 batches all different. I even tried root beer. bought 2 used 5 gal kegs, now I need to build a jockey box. When it first became legal in Ca. my dad and his friend made bad tasting beer in about 10 days.

Johney's seeds sells two row in 1, 5. and 25 pound amounts. Harvesting and threshing by hand is
time consuming. check out the brewers garden it has method for malting in 5 lb batches

Any one have info on where to buy grain seed? I bought some 2 row from Johney's seeds but would
like some other kind to try. Must be the kind for making beer not to feed animals or cleaning
    your pond....
