I prefer replacing a blow-off tube with an airlock when aggressive fermentation is done. It
allows me to clean and re-use the tube. They get too dried up and cruddy when left on too long.

Possible Tannin flavors. It will still be beer. Rack out from under any left-over floaters.
Bottling or kegging? Either way you want to cold crash. Porters can cover many brewing errors.

The derivation of IPAs was hops fade with age. Wines change flavor with age. Oak fades with
