- I just wanted to get into making my own beer. I am a do it yourselfer to some extent, I enjoy gardening, processing my own deer, and a friend of mine has been homebrewing for about 20 years, so I kept picking his brain, and my wife bought me a Mr. Beer Kit for Christmas, and I have been making beer consistently all year. She bought me a Midwest Homebrew equipment kit, and I use it now.I got a keggle for my b-day and bought a false bottom for it. working on getting that system down, but its proved challenging. I brew 1 or 2 5-gallon batches every few months, drink some, give some away, and have lots of fun brewing. I like looking up new recipes, and enjoy the learning process involved in making my own beer.
