    Or, pump the ice water through your chiller and skip the prechiller.+1 doing this made the
    biggest difference in my chilling.-G

    I generally run Star-San through everything after a PBW soak, and a rinse with clean water. I
    like to leave all my stainless in a passivated state. Not 100% necessary but it is what I do.

    I have done this before and I go through way to much ice to make that worth it. Ten gallon
    batches and 50ft of 1/2" exchange a lot of heat. The initial water I have coming from the

    What hardware are you using for chilling? The reason I ask is if you are using a plate chiller
    than flow does matter. If you are using a immersion chiller or CFC it might not matter as much.
