Hmmm... Never heard that, even from the pros. Besides, opening up the fermenter mid way thru
primary to throw hops in just lets oxygen back in... kinda defeats the purpose of airlock?

Throw the hops directly (i.e. no bags, filters, etc.) into Primary right after you pitch the
yeast. Let sit in primary for no more than 14 days. Rack to secondary.The beauty of Primary dry
