    ABOUT ME

  • Got into brewing spring 09 with some research on the internet i wanted my first batch to be a liquid extract batch with my own hop additions. The LHBS, if it can be called that, informed me that i had to call their retail shop and buy blackrock kits. So thats what i did and it turned out horrible. About 20 kit beers later i did a liquid extract+ dextrose+ hops batch that i got from another town. That beer turned out ok, but the finer points of proper temperatures weren't quite realized so it turned out to be a mediocre beer. I got a job at a local brewery and they were kind enuff to hook me up with everything i needed for an AG batch, which was exciting. That beer turned out absolutely amazing, despite my lack of proper equipment. I did a few extract batches until my 10gallon keg MT and kettle were done. I built a counterflow wort chiller and now im all setup to do AG. Made friends with a Micro brewery about 45 minutes from here and thats where i get all my grain, and hops.

Gambrinus makes a dark Munich at 30L, that may be what you have, its definitely not a crystal
malt and needs to be mashed. Its got a really great flavor to it, altho 3.5 lbs in that recipe
    is a bit ex...

Im using 1/2" hoses and fittings on my 1bbl system with march pumps and it works fine. Unless
you replace your pumps, they will be your bottle neck. I personally dont think a 300-500 dollar

I've always used a 7/8" bi-metal holesaw for my keggle fittings. I've gone through 3/16" thick

  • Posted in thread: Can i use copper graded for 150 deg. In wort chiller on 06-18-2012 at 07:10 AM
I wouldnt worry about it, coppers melting point is almost 2000f so your boiling wort isnt even
    coming close to hurting it.
